- 4 large russet potatoes
- 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
- 1 yellow onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 ½ cups mixed frozen vegetables
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup sour cream
- 3 tablespoons salted butter (divided)
- ¼ cup flour
- ¾ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon mustard powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground sage
Instructions

- In a stock pot over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned; drain excess grease.
- Boil peeled and chopped potatoes in salted water until fork-tender. Mash with sour cream and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté diced onion in butter until softened; add minced garlic.
- Whisk in flour, then gradually add chicken broth while stirring continuously.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, seasonings, and half-and-half; bring to boil then simmer.
- Mix in mashed potatoes and blend until creamy using an immersion blender.
- Add cooked beef and frozen vegetables; heat through for about 5 minutes.
