  • 4 green onions (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fresh ginger root (minced)
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the popcorn chicken according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a large wok or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the white parts of the green onion, garlic, ginger, and optional chili flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
