- 4 cups peeled, chopped fresh apples
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until crumbly; reserve 1½ cups for topping.
- Press remaining mixture into the pan and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
- Toss chopped apples with cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg; let sit briefly.
- Spread apple mixture over the crust and sprinkle reserved crumbs on top.
- Bake again for 30–35 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Cool completely before cutting; drizzle with a simple glaze if desired.
