Description

This light and flavorful dish features tender cod fillets seasoned with garlic and paprika, served with a bright, creamy lemon-dill sauce. Perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner or a simple yet elegant meal.


Ingredients

For the Cod

4 cod fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Lemon slices, for garnish

For the Lemon-Dill Sauce

1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional, for creaminess)
1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste


Instructions

Prepare the Cod

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Pat cod fillets dry with paper towels.

Place on a greased baking sheet.

Drizzle with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using).

Arrange lemon slices on top or around fillets.

2. Bake the Cod

Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes.

3. Make the Lemon-Dill Sauce

In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, mayonnaise (if using), dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, and garlic (if using).

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix until smooth.

4. Serve

Plate cod fillets and spoon lemon-dill sauce over the top.

Garnish with additional dill or lemon slices, if desired.
