  • 1 Tablespoon finely ground Earl Grey tea
  • ½ teaspoon culinary-grade lavender
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
  • blue cornflower petals


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, ground tea, lavender, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet with space in between.
  7. Sprinkle granulated sugar on top of each cookie before baking.
  8. Bake for about 15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool on wire racks.
