For the Banana Bread:
2 large ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, melted butter, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  • Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared pan.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the batter.
  • Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  • Add the remaining banana bread batter on top and smooth it out.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar over the top.
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the bread portion comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
