  • 1 Tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 1½ cups buttermilk (room temperature)
  • 3 Tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ Tablespoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter (cubed)
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2½ teaspoons milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg, and buttermilk until well combined.
  4. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the greased dish. Layer with prepared streusel mixture if applicable. Top with remaining batter and sprinkle extra streusel on top.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
