  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt (to taste)
  • 1 pound French bread (diced into cubes)

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until sandy in texture; spread this mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.
  4. Add diced bread to the egg mixture, gently tossing until coated. Pour into the casserole dish, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight.
