  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 bag caramels
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 16-ounce can chocolate frosting


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the German chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water as per package instructions.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 15 minutes until slightly set.
  4. Meanwhile, melt together the caramels, butter, and evaporated milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until smooth.
  5. Once the first layer is baked, pour the caramel mixture evenly over it. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  6. Pour the remaining batter on top and return to the oven for another 20 minutes or until set.
